As in previous years, we invite you to participate in our fan art contest. For the first tree palces gets grate prices and throphies. If you want to participate, please read our terms and conditions and information carefully.
Topic: Companions – Companions
When you hear the word companion, you probably think of Pokémon, Digimon or other anime in this category. But companions can also be real pets or good friends. Show us your companions and tell us their story with your work.

Beginner digital • Beginner traditional • Advanced digital • Advanced traditional
Conditions of participation:
- The fan arts are divided into 4 categories: Digital Beginner, Digital Advanced, Traditional Beginner and Traditional Advanced
- We also accept original characters. Please send us a character sheet of the depicted character, so we can get to know him better. A sketch is sufficient; the most important information should be included.
- Multiple submissions are allowed, but only 1 image can win.
- Size and format (traditional): DIN A4
- Size and format (digital): min. Resolution of 300dpi, A4 size.
- Please note that you do not miss the theme of the contest. If we feel that the image has totally missed the point, it will be eliminated from the contest. The excluded works will NOT be exhibited.
- Entries must remain unpublished until the winners are announced. After that, feel free to share them on various platforms.
- We reserve the right to reclassify images that do not correspond to the specified category.
- We reserve the right to disqualify images that are obviously stolen/copied. A contest should always be there to encourage you to do your best. References are of course allowed.
- Pay attention to the protection of minors: Images that obviously contain pornographic, violent, similar or criminally relevant topics will be disqualified. ● Please remember that minors will also be attending AniNite.
Submissions
Your works should be uploaded to a cloud (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
Please include the following information in your message:
- Name + artist name: (additionally tell us how you prefer to be called. So “civil name ONLY”, “artist name ONLY” or “both ok”)
- Category: Digital Beginner, Digital Advanced, Traditional Beginner or Traditional Advanced
- Your social media link (only one please!). We will then print your image(s) with your name and a QR code that people can then use to visit your page.
Deadline
You can send in your picture(s) until 31 July 2024.
Winners
The winners in each category will receive non-cash prizes and small trophies. The winners will be announced on Sunday during the award ceremony.
Please remember: You must be present to receive your award. If you are not able to be present, we ask you to nominate a substitute at the information booth (full name of the person; the person must be able to identify him/herself).
Data protection
By participating in the competition, you agree that we may exhibit your picture(s) during the event. The data will be stored by us and may be used for advertising purposes (e.g. for a social media post for the fan art competition in the future). If you do not want us to use your submission for promotional purposes, please let us know. We will delete your submission after the AniNite. We will NOT share your data with any third party.
Contest and evaluation procedure
A 4-member jury will judge your works according to the following criteria:
- Line management
- Colouration
- Composition
- Idea
A points system is applied. Each jury member can give points from 1-10. The more points, the better the grade. Each jury member decides for themself. At the end of the evaluation, each image is discussed again and opinions are exchanged. In the event of a tie, a vote will be taken.
