You have a favorite character that you find incredibly cool, beautiful and strong? You are fascinated by their appearance, their voice and sayings have been stuck in your memory and you would like to impersonate them yourself one day? Then character cosplay competition is the right place for you!
Register and portray your character on stage. Beginners are just as welcome as more experienced people. The most important thing for us is: fun!
Conditions of participation
- You must be present on the day of the competition (day will be announced).
- If you cannot be present at the awards ceremony, you must report this to the information desk and provide contact information.
- Prizes will NEVER be forwarded abroad!
- The entry form must be filled out COMPLETELY.
- With the contest registration you give us the permission to stream your video LIVE and to use the videos later.
- Shorts or “safety pants” must be worn under skirts and dresses. Nothing is allowed to be seen that is not supposed to be seen!
- Obviously violent or pornographic content will be disqualified.
- You must register for the competition. The closing date for entries is 29 July 2024, 23:59.
- Last minute registrations on site are NOT possible!
Violations of the competition rules can lead to exclusion from the competition!

- Participation: Individually (1 person), as a duo (2 persons) or as a group (from 3 persons, maximum 7 persons)
- Stage time: 1 – 3 minutes (single), 1 – 5 minutes (duo), 1 – 7 minutes (group)
- Stagehands: helpers are allowed, “help” (hand, set up) only and must not contribute too much to the performance.
- Costumes: Manga, Anime, Games, Movies, J-Rock, J-Pop
The evaluation takes place in one round:
One round takes place on the stage (evaluation of the performance).
This competition focuses on the cosplayer’s acting skills. The aim is to portray the character’s essence true to the work.

Procedure
The date of the competition will be announced shortly.
- All participants must bepunctual 15min. bevor the startof the Liveshow. The meeting point is at the side of the stage hall (exact location will be communicated in the registration confirmation). Groups must be complete (attendance will be checked). A no-show will be understood as a withdrawal.
- If the participant needs someone to take care of personal matters, this person may also stay in the backstage area. If necessary, the competition management should be consulted.
- All participants are requested not to leave the stage immediately before the start of the performance and afterwards! -> Group photo at the end of the competition.
- Cosplayers will receive a starting number after registration. These starting numbers are binding, as they determine the order of appearance on stage.
- We ask all participants to dress, style and apply make-up at home or in their hotel rooms if possible, as changing rooms are only available to a limited extent. Smudged sinks, clogged plumbing (due to hair or the like) or hairspray-fogged restrooms are unfair to other Aninite visitors.
Contest procedure
Shortly after registration, all participants (or in the case of groups: the person who sent the registration) will receive a confirmation email containing:
– Start number
– Site plan and time for the backstage meeting before the performance
– personal contact
Here’s how the competition works on stage:
- Moderation
- Performance according to the order of the starting numbers
- After last performance group photo of all participants (approx. 3 minutes) on stage
- Bow, walk off the stage
Judging process
- It takes place on the stage.
- The jury consists of 3 jurors. They observe the stage show and evaluate it.
- The jury awards points for overall appearance and designated details in the acting performance based on the judging sheet.
- The winner is the participant with the highest total number of points.
- Depending on the number of participants and the size of the groups, 5 – 10 minutes are planned per participant.
- There is no separate category for group sizes. The best show is victorious.
